Graph showing which packages impliment the same techniques
It would be interesting to see which packages have implemented similar methods. These could then be reviewed in order to find the most efficient implementation of an algorithm, or to discover interesting ways of approaching an implimentation.

Jon Baron's search engine is the most useful thing I know for finding an R function that does what you want.

The list of popular packages should take into account number of users, not just average reviews.

tell me what this is and why I should care.
I come across crantastic.org all the time when searching for R information on the web, and I always end up pushing the browser's back button because I have no idea where I am or what I'm supposed to do. I believe you guys can do a better job communicating the mission and scope of crantastic to the web surfer.

It would be useful when finding new software for any particular task you are new to, or do not know much about it. Easy way to follow links for more information and reviews or others may be really helpful, and my be contacting who make the review to interact

In addition to the I use this, have the possibility for user to upload/track their list of installed packages. This would rapidly increase the amount of information on use.

Ability to send message to another crantastic user
We can't currently contact other crantastic users unless they chose a username revealing who they are. Email addresses of other users are not revealed.
This "send message" feature would allow users to connect to other users who share common interests and opinions revealed by their reviews and votes.
Users should still be able to remain anonymous if they wish.3 votes -

The following was a status update on CRANtastic's front page. It includes a lot of unnecessary updates involving changing votes when really all we need is the final vote the user settled on.
